The town
A small town with a little tunnel
Westmoreland sits in the northeast part of Sumner County, about five miles below the Kentucky line. It is a small town, under five square miles of land by the Census count, and it is known for the short railroad tunnel cut through the rock near downtown, the one called the Little Tunnel.
A house out in full sun and a house under old trees wear differently. Sun-facing siding fades and chalks; shaded walls and roofs grow the green and black streaks. Concrete under trees stains from leaves and sap. None of that is a reason for a hard blast. Most of it is a soft wash and a proper rinse.
