The town
Named for a white inn
The city takes its name from a two-story inn on the old stagecoach route between Louisville and Nashville. It was painted white, which was unusual at the time, and the drivers started calling the stop the White House. The original is long gone; a replica built in 1986 now houses the city museum and visitor center.
White House also sits across a county line. Most of the city is in Robertson County, and the rest reaches over into Sumner County. For pressure washing it makes no difference: the whole city is in our area.
